Writing That Doesn't Feel Terrible

You wanna write, right?

Let’s do it!

Writing doesn’t have to be miserable.

Ever sit down to write and think “who cares about my ideas” or “oops, it turns out I’m terrible?”

Writing is both a thing you’re dying to do and a thing you totally hate doing.

That’s normal.

Instead of writing “write more” on your to-do list, I can help you actually write more.

My name’s Amber and I have classes to help you start freelance writing (a great way to write short pieces, increase your confidence, and get paid while you do it).

Not thinking about writing, actually doing it and getting it done.

What students are saying…

“Amber’s writing course was life-changing for me in more than one way. Not only did it teach me the ins and outs of freelance writing, but in 6 months I have somehow managed to actually become a published writer, have no fear or trepidation about sending out pitches, have entered myself into worldwide writing competitions, and even started taking on clients and doing their social media. Now I'm working as a professional writer in a topic that I'm knowledgeable at!
Never in a thousand years did I really think anything like this could happen to me, Amber is magic!” - Robyn Hunt

“I truly can’t believe that I’m going to get money to write. I cannot thank you enough. I feel so excited. I’m so grateful. - Jocelyne O’Toole

“I learned so much and went from feeling like oh my god what am I doing with my life to - hold up, there’s a lot of stuff I can do. Now that next step is exciting instead of scary.” - Jen Cascio

“Amber is knowledgeable, approachable, and hilarious; somehow, she made finding a new side job sound fun AND attainable. Her ability to instruct without sounding condescending or preachy is definitely a special skill/super power! She has such good energy and you can tell that she truly wants to help.” - Jess Janes

Who the hell is Amber Petty?

For 13 years, Amber was a professional actor in New York and Los Angeles. She starred Off-Broadway in 50 Shades! The Musical, performed and taught at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, and did improv around the world with Baby Wants Candy. Mostly, she played the role of “getting ignored by agents.

Growing tired of waiting for auditions, she switched careers completely and is now a regular contributor to The New York Times, MTV, Thrillist, IFC, Bustle, Greatist, Healthline, Parade, and more.

Now, she teaches Freelance Writing for Creatives, a 10-Week Course to take you from “where do I even start” to “I just got paid to write about podcasts.” Her students have been seen in Huffington Post, McSweeney’s, Vulture, Thrillist, Polygon, Insider, Vox, and a whole bunch more.
